About Lily Travel

Hi, I’m Lily — and travel has inspired me for as long as I can remember.

My love of travel didn’t begin with a flight or a passport stamp. It began as a kid, when my parents made the bold decision to sell our home, move us into a truck camper, and spend several months traversing the country.

The quarters were close, but the world felt endlessly wide. I was captivated by the landscapes that changed outside the window, by the history and culture you can only truly absorb when you’re immersed in it, and by that quiet but persistent thrill of arriving somewhere completely new.

That chapter of my childhood left a permanent mark. Travel became an absolutely essential part of my life.

What I Do

While I have a full-time marketing career I’m deeply passionate about, Lily Travel is where my personal wanderlust thrives.

I don’t sell itineraries (yet) or travel checklists. I don’t sell anything. This website serves as a resource for fellow travellers that want information about destinations throughout the United States, Europe and beyond.

For now, it’s my little experiment, and a way to help others who love to travel plan an epic trip. At some point I may sell itineraries or open an Etsy shop, but for now I prefer to keep it pure and simple: my honest travel advice and tips I’ve learned along the way.

What Makes Me Qualified?

Here’s my honest answer.

I’m not a full-time, traditional travel agent — Lily Travel is my passion project, built alongside a full-time career. But that’s precisely what makes my perspective valuable to a lot of people — I’m living the same reality you are.

I know what it means to guard your PTO like it’s precious, because it is. I know the discipline of building a trip around real constraints — a limited number of days off, a budget that has to work hard, a schedule that doesn’t bend easily.  I navigate those challenges every time I plan a trip for myself.

I’ve traveled on a shoestring budget as a broke graduate student, squeezing every last experience out of every last dollar. I’ve traveled in luxury, where the goal was pure, unhurried indulgence. I’ve planned deeply personal milestones like my honeymoon, where every detail mattered. That range has made me a more resourceful and creative planner, which is why my travel articles may be of use to you.

If you’re an intentional traveler who wants more information about fabulous places around the world, take a look around the site and dig into the resources.
